The field of translation, interpretation, revision and terminology is very technical, as the work involved required the use of translation techniques (please refer to “Technicality of the Sections”).
Therefore, the LSD requires a minimum of a bachelor degree in translation, interpretation, language or law in order to join the team of language officers of the Department. Other bachelor degrees and diplomas in any other fields can also be taken into account. Moreover, a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in translation or interpretation is also required. Experience in other fields can also be considered.
